There
are many ways you can help us at Cats Are People, Too! Club, Inc.:
Adopt a cat or kitten: Pets may be adopted by appointment at the shelter (call 330-372-6134). See the link above to "Adorable Adoptables" for more information.
Provide foster care for a cat or kitten: If you have a quiet home and loving patience, we need foster homes for kittens and for older cats who have been abandoned and need to learn to trust people again.
Volunteer at the shelter: We need volunteers who could give two to three hours once a week to clean at the shelter. This involves giving fresh food and water, sweeping out cages with a whisk broom and cleaning litter boxes. We are also looking people with experience in (or a willingness to learn about) fundraising and foundation grant writing, as well as people who could do pre- and post-adoption home visits.
Make
a tax-deductible, monetary donation: All
donations are tax-deductible. You may donate online by clicking on the
JustGive.org button to the right and making a secure donation
with your credit card. If you prefer to send a check, you may download
a donation form instead,
or simply send a check to Cats Are People, Too! Club Inc., P.O. Box 1947,
Warren, OH 44482. (You will need to have Adobe
Acrobat Reader installed to download the donation form.) All donations
are used to provide dry and canned food, litter, cleaning supplies and
medications for our animals. They are also used for veterinary services
such as inoculations and spaying/neutering. Many of our cats come to us
in need of long term veterinary care before they are ready to be adopted.
Donate goods: We need throw rugs for the cage bottoms (no rubber backing, please!), gently used comforters that can be cut up for bed pads, bags of litter, and cat and kitten food, both wet and canned. Paper towels and non-toxic (pet-friendly) cleaning supplies are also needed. Larger cages for the cats at the shelter are needed as well. We need cages that are at least about 48" by 60"; used cages, as well as enclosed, floor-type dog cages, are welcome.
Go shopping: If you shop at PetSmart.com or Amazon.com through our website, each of these companies donates a percentage of your purchase to Cats Are People, Too! We also have set up an online shop for Cats Are People, Too! at Cafe Press. Cafe Press allows us to design our own merchandise, and there you'll find everything from mugs to hats to clothing. Depending on item purchased, from $1-$10 from each item goes to the club. Please stop by these websites and see what they have to offer!
Donate items for bake sales and garage sales: Information about upcoming fund-raisers may be had by calling 330-372-6134. PetSmart often holds fund-raisers for Cats Are People, Too! as well.
Call 330-372-6134 to arrange for items to be picked up or for someone to be at the shelter to meet you when you drop off an item.
Donate skills and/or services: We need skilled people to help with the following: Fundraising, handyperson to help with installing insulation and fixing up the shelter, etc.
